Disc Golf
The sport of Disc Golf is still one of the largest growing sports globally.
Disc golf, also known as frisbee golf, is a flying disc sport in which players throw a disc at a target. It is played using rules similar to golf.
Amesbury town council has Discs available to use from the Bowman Centre. However, do drop a message on our Facebook page. Members are always willing to help you out with a few discs.
About Stonehenge Disc Golf Club
The club was officially set up in 2021 and is based at the Amesbury course. The course was installed by Amesbury Town Council in 2017 & was designed by club Chairman Craig Pettit.
The clubs membership is constantly growing & benefits from discounted entry for club tournaments, social days & weekly competitive leagues.
The club also run weekly casual events open to anyone who wants to come and try disc golf.
The Course
The main course (The Stonehenge Course) is an ideal beginners layout. The 18 holes are all par 3 with a mix of short to medium distance holes. There are a few tricky tree lined holes and some obstacles along the way.

The club have also added a few harder courses. These layouts can be found on the UDisc App. The League events & tournaments often run additional layouts to provide variety as well as a different challenge.
Casual Events
The Club run a Sunday Casuals Session at 10am. Club members gather to play a few rounds in a friendly & laid back atmosphere. These are open to the general public who want to come along and try disc golf. These rounds are usually in larger groups.
Members & non members can also arrange groups to play in via our Facebook group.
Tuesday Leagues
Tuesday evenings at 6pm is usually the league events. Members get free entry to compete in the league. However, there is a £3 entry for non members.
Three leagues take place throughout the year – A Spring, Summer & even a Winter Glow in the dark League.
Events
We also run member only competitions as well as fully PDGA Sanctioned tournaments.
The Grips & Chains tournament in May & The Stonehenge Skirmish in October are open to the whole disc golf community.
UDisc is a great way to score your rounds. The app shows you the course layouts as well as let you easily score your rounds. These numbers can then be used by the club to show just how many rounds take place on the course.
